Free Workshops on Rebuilding for Comfort, Durability and Energy Efficiency
The County of Sonoma’s Energy and Sustainability Division and Sonoma Clean Power are partnering with PG&E to offer a series of five workshops on rebuilding for comfort, durability and energy efficiency.
The classes are free and will be held on Friday afternoons at the North Coast Builders Exchange in Santa Rosa beginning April 27.
The April 27 session, Design Thinking for Zero Net Energy, is from 12pm-4pm. Ann Edminster will discuss how good design decisions and careful architectural and construction detailing can create attractive, comfortable, durable buildings that require much less energy for mechanical heating and cooling. Participants will learn key considerations that enable designers to make choices rather than pay a premium to achieve excellent comfort and energy performance.
Each session in the series stands on its own. Lunch will be provided for class participants.

- May 11, 12pm-4pm, High Performance Enclosures: Air Tight, Well-Insulated, Properly Ventilated
- May 18, 12pm-4pm, Residential Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning: Small Heat Pumps and Small Furnaces – High Efficiency and More Affordable
- June 1, 1pm-5pm, Energy and Time Efficient Hot Water Systems for New Homes
